Ten Important Questions You Should Ask Before You Hire A Cabinet Company

1. Is your company licensed?

When it comes to skilled tradespeople such as custom cabinet makers, Sarasota County provides Occupational Licenses to assure consumers of the quality of said business’s work. Additionally, you should only work with establishments that are duly registered with the State of Florida. Eurotech Cabinetry’s license and certificate numbers are available upon request. You may contact both the county and the state to confirm the authenticity of these numbers and that all necessary paper work is up to date and that all fees and taxes have been paid and are current.

2. How long have you been in business and what assurances do I have that you will be around to finish my project?

We understand your concerns regarding longevity and stability. We too have heard all the horror stories about here today-gone tomorrow operators that made big promises and then left their clients hanging. We are proud to say that we have been in business since 1984. We have been in the same location for 24 of those years and have made substantial investments in our 10,500 square foot facility that houses a 6,000 square foot cabinet shop and a 4,000 square foot kitchen, bath and custom furniture showroom and office space. Since 1984, we have completed over 1900 projects without letting anybody down.

3. Are you insured? What type of insurance and what are the limits?

Your home is likely one of your biggest investments. You don’t want to jeopardize that by hiring uninsured or underinsured custom cabinet makers. Sarasota residents can rest easy knowing that we are fully insured. We carry product liability insurance, property insurance, flood insurance and worker’s compensation insurance. Our insurance limits vary from $ 1,000,000 to $ 5,000,000 depending on the project.

4. Do you belong to any trade or professional organizations?

We have been members of the National Kitchen and Bath Association since 1984. The NKBA has a code of ethics and business practices that we abide by. Our staff regularly attends NKBA meetings, seminars and other events. This keeps us up to date with all the new products and techniques that become available. In addition, our staff volunteers for leadership roles in the NKBA as well as participating yearly in the Design Competition. We are well respected and considered a leader in the kitchen and bath industry.

5. Do you have references that are relevant to the type of work I want done?

Yes we do. There is nothing better than a reference from another client to give one the assurance that they will be well taken care of by their custom cabinet makers. Sarasota residents just like you have provided the numerous testimonial letters on our website. These letters are unsolicited and come from clients with projects that cover the entire spectrum of our work. In addition, we can put you in touch with as many of our previous clients as you wish so you may discuss their “Eurotech Experience”.

6. After we sign up, who will we be dealing with and do I need to be here?

We understand that communication is key. We’ll never keep you guessing as to the status of your project. Once all the details are finalized and we have signed a contract, your primary contact will be our Installation Supervisor. Our supervisor will keep in touch with you regarding cabinetry delivery and installation scheduling as well as any other items that may arise. Our highly skilled, experienced cabinet installers are also our job superintendents. They will keep you apprised of their progress as well as answer any other questions related to the install. Clients who are out of town really appreciate how we keep them apprised of the project’s status via phone, fax, email (with pictures), etc. Your designer/salesperson will also remain involved with the project until it is complete. Our installers have years of experience and have been trained by Eurotech to adhere to our stringent installation guidelines and techniques.

7. Do you have designers on staff that can help me with my project? How talented are they?

Yes we do. Our designers have a total of 70 years experience in the kitchen, bath and custom furniture field. While one of our designers will take the lead design role on your project, a second and sometimes a third designer review all of our projects. We will draw plans and elevations for your project, review them with you and make as many revisions as it takes to get everything 100% to your liking. We’d like to remind you that Eurotech Cabinetry has won 15 national and international design awards in the last 17 years for the quality of our output and the skill of our talented team of custom cabinet makers. Sarasota doesn’t have any other establishments that can make that claim!

8. Do you charge a Design Fee?

No, we do not. We are so confident that our designs, products and service will win you over, we do not need to “lock you in” with a design fee. Our designs are part of the service we offer, at no additional charge.

9. How long will my project take? Do you usually finish on schedule?

The time it takes to complete a project depends on the complexity of that particular project. We won’t try to entice you with false promises about delivery and completion, only to disappoint you later. Once we are given the go ahead, we can let you know when each phase of the project will begin and end. Since we started in 1984, we have maintained an on-time delivery record of 97%. In addition, we take great pride in completing our projects within the time frame given and frequently ahead of schedule.

10. Do you have a warranty on your materials and labor?

WE STAND BEHIND EVERYTHING WE DO. We warranty our products against defects in materials and workmanship for varying periods of time, depending on the product. Our Blue Ridge cabinetry comes with a two year warranty, our Art Craft cabinetry comes with a five year warranty and both our Dutch Made cabinetry and Eurotech cabinetry are warranted for as long as the cabinetry is owned by the client.
