EUROTECH WINS AGAIN
Our accolades mean a lot to us, back in 2004 we were honored to win the Gold Award in SRQ Magazine’s Kitchen Design.
November 2004: Continuing our award winning tradition, EuroTech has taken the Gold Award in SRQ Magazine’s Kitchen Design Competition. This time, EuroTech Designer Judy Adams Hunt took the honors with a single-family residential kitchen on Longboat Key. Also working on this project was Fabiola Softas of Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design. Below is a photo and Judy’s description of the project.
This wonderful space has a grace and movement all it’s own. Soft curves in the illuminated recessed ceiling and the pass through soffit, combined with the use of organic materials, are a perfect compliment to the Gulf’s ebb and flow just steps away.
The owners of this beautiful waterfront home, he a marine biologist, she with a passion for botany, are most comfortable in an environment reflecting and complimenting the out-of-doors. The heavily veined blue granite tops, natural maple cabinets, bamboo wood floors, floating glass breakfast counter, and stainless appliances are the elements that bring form and function together here. In addition to these elements, the soft curves in the architecture are reflected in the gentle forms of the floating glass top and the
suspended banquet bench.
While creating culinary delights here, you have two distinctive working areas. One area is for preparation and one is for cleanup. The central island, though reading as a sculpture, meshes these functions with a flow that enables you to move easily from task to task while thoroughly enjoying your surroundings.
This kitchen, the heart of this home, definitely invites you to stop and stay a while.
